VSS provides a structured graduate development program (GDP) for clinics employing new graduates into mixed animal practice.
The GDP runs over a 12 month period where VSS works alongside your graduate, helping to improve their confidence and gain competence in large animal veterinary, communication and psychosocial skills and develop independence in their general veterinary on-call duties. Whilst working with clinics, VSS also acts as an informal mentor to the graduate(s) which further supports their mental well-being and personal development. Overall, the GDP serves to provide a comprehensive cattle-focused training and mentoring program across the first year of your new graduate’s employment.
A GDP retainer fee is charged annually to the business engaging the services of VSS. This retainer fee provides open access to support from VSS for one year including (but not limited to) phone support, tutorial materials, veterinary equipment for teaching and assisting and requests for ad hoc support during clinic operating hours. The retainer fee also covers the time taken to formulate tutorial materials, to organise structured on-farm teaching and travel expenses from clinic to farms as required.
