VSS knows how difficult it can be to find qualified vets in the current employment climate. Consequently, whilst VSS specialises in graduate support and development, we can also provide locum veterinary services for mixed animal or small animal practices.

With over 15 years of experience in mixed animal clinical practice VSS has a skill set to reflect that.

We are comfortable with small animal consultation, radiography and basic surgery, basic routine and emergency general equine practice as well as general mixed farm animal calls.

Cattle have been a major focus over the years so pregnancy testing, lameness, sick cows and general bovine surgery are all part of the available skill set. With many years of on-call experience in mixed rural practice, emergency calls can also be handled.

Locum work can be offered as full or half days, as required by the business, and is generally preferred as occasional fill-ins rather than multi-week stints.  VSS also carries its own equipment for large animal veterinary services.
