Testimonials

Working with Becky through my grad year and beyond has been absolutely incredible. She’s been a fantastic mentor both in clinical and professional roles. Leaving vet school, clinical supervision onfarm rapidly dries up, which often left me feeling stranded and out of my depth. With Becky present to give advice on medicine and surgery, I’ve developed my confidence rapidly and set up a great foundation of skills which will support me through the rest of my career. From small adjustments to technique, to teaching the things that uni never taught us, to navigating the workplace as a professional, days on farm with Becky are always a highlight of my week. Not to mention she’s great at chatting to farmers so I can focus on the task at hand!

Jordan, 2022 Graduate

Working with Becky has done so much to make my first year in practice a positive experience. The mentoring and training I have received has been so valuable and made me more confident when Iam on my own (such as during after hours). When I tell other recent graduates from my year at uni about VSS, their response is something along the lines of ‘wow, all new grads should have that!’.Becky is supportive, encouraging and a fantastic teacher. I am lucky to work for a clinic that is already very supportive of new grads, and engaging the services of VSS is one of the best things my clinic has done to support me.

Lauren, 2022 Graduate

As a recent veterinary graduate, additional mentoring from Becky at Veterinary Support Services has allowed me to gain confidence and cement practical skills in my field.

Kellie, 2022 Graduate

Our clinic has worked with VSS for about 8 months now. VSS offers new graduates going into mixed practice the kind of support that our profession has been lacking and has desperately needed for along time. This service has ensured that our new graduates feel supported during this transition.

Drouin Vet Clinic

When we were first considering engaging with Veterinary Support Services, I wasn’t sure whether we really needed that additional support. However, even with the number of staff that we had, it was difficult to give the new graduates the time and support they needed. Engaging with VSS has been of great value to our workflow and productivity. It has also reduced the pressure on veterinary staff to have somebody else to take on some of the responsibility of backing up after hours and training our new graduates.

Tim, Practice Owner

I have really enjoyed working with Becky over the past 12 months. Becky is always pleasant and works well within the team. Our staff have responded positively to tutorials ran by Becky and are eager for more learning opportunities from her services. I have found Becky to be hardworking, supportive and helpful for all members of the veterinary team. I would definitely recommend her!

Teagan, Practice Manager

I highly recommend VSS to any individual or clinic that is seeking support/mentorship for their new graduates. As a new graduate who has been working for a year, some of the most challengingaspects in my first year include doing on call/ after-hours work and having to go out on farms with little to no experience. As such, it has been invaluable to have Becky with me on farm to be able toseek guidance when in doubt and to ensure that I am approaching each case to the best of my ability. Becky encourages you to utilise your knowledge, learn and build your skills in a supportiveenvironment. This has enabled me to gain confidence in my abilities as a veterinary professional. Becky is an intelligent, competent, and caring individual who is passionate about mentoring. She willalways go above and beyond to ensure that your questions and concerns are answered.

Amanda, 2022 Graduate

I met Becky at the most opportune time.  We were struggling to get service from the local vet clinics. We have a responsibility to care for our animals and we couldn’t do it with the local vetclinics as our business wasn’t big enough to be a priority for them. Becky has been the epitome of professionalism and support for us with our small herd of goats and beef as well as our domesticanimals. Through Becky’s extensive experience and understanding, we have developed a high level of trust that we have not had with a vet for a very long time.

By engaging Becky from Veterinary Support services, we have watched our recent graduates improve their skills in a far shorter time frame than expected. Becky has been able to individualise her teaching to their own learning styles. She is also very open to working with the business needs and clients when providing teaching/training. Not only this, but on days where we are short on vets she has the flexibility to switch between teaching and practicing as a veterinarian. Her support after hours has also enabled our other vets freedom and for the first time our whole team was able to attend our annual end of year function thanks to Becky taking care of our clients after hours.
